We now offer you the convenience of automated electronic giving. You may set it up to have your donation taken out of your checking account, use your debit card or you may choose to use your credit card.

The new modern methods will significantly streamline the record keeping for the church as well as our reporting to you for tax purposes. In addition many people now feel that the convenience of these methods is their preferred way to give.

Writing in the May 17, 2007 Stockton Record, Minneapolis Star-Tribune reporter Kara McGuire cites a recent survey finding that 60% of 18-20 year olds rarely carry or transact in cash. Indeed this is the financial method of the future.

A word about debt. While convenience and value are good, debt is bad! So for those of you who are not in the habit of paying off your monthly credit card balances (which we encourage you to do), please use the debit card or automatic check withdrawal feature.

For those who do pay off your credit card balances and would find it a greater convenience and value to put your donation on those cards, now you may do so. A quote from our Good $ense Ministry Spending Plan Course cautions “…that credit cards only be used to purchase or pay for those items that are included in the family Spending Plan.”
