Purpose Statement for Womens Ministry PDF Print E-mail

A word from Sue...

Summer Time, Summer Time, Summer, Summer, Summer Time…

Surfs up, fuel prices are up, teachers are cheering, parents are scrambling, students are holding their breath. It can’t get here fast enough, it can’t be here already…drag out those flip-flops---it’s summer! Summer means different things to different people, but to most everyone it means some kind of change.

How will you spend your summer? Racing around? Chasing the kids? Catching a nap? Basted and baked in the sun until done?

Before summer shifts into high gear, stop. Just for a time to reflect. Is there something special you’d like to accomplish before it is time to start Christmas shopping? A friend you need to talk to? A book you want to read? A personal retreat with God and your Bible? A women’s group you’d like to check out? A neighbor you’d like to get to know better?

Write down the possibilities. Check in with the Lord… and then choose one or two. Get out the calendar. Create some space.  Schedule the meeting, or the coffee, or the one-on-one time with your children. Post the chosen goal in an obvious place…how about your steering wheel?

Sue

You are a woman loved and cherished by God!

You are encouraged to join the Women's Sunday School. We meet in Room A209-210 on Sunday mornings from 10:00 - 11:10.  We are a group of women who love the Lord, love each other, and love to read and study God's Word.

We have time for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.  Since we gather in small groups, it’s a great opportunity to get to know other women better… discuss God’s Word with one another.

Bible Study Transforms Lives!

 Spice Women's Bible Study

Beginning September 9

Thursdays 9:30 - 11:45 am in room E213

Studying Growing a Heart for God

This fall in Spice we will be studying "Growing a Heart for God" by John Ortberg with Kevin & Sherry Harney.  Our world focuses on outward appearances.  God is concerned with the heart.  All through the Bible we are reminded that inner transformation matters more than outer presentation.  How can we swim against the societal currents and focus on the condition of our hearts?

In 1 and 2 Samuel we meet a man who excelled in the arts, was victorious as a military commander, successful in the political arena, and who could have easily been on the cover of Sports Illustrated or GQ magazine.  But what most marked the life of David was his passionate heart for God.  By investigating the life of David we can learn how to develop a heart that will bring joy to the heart of God.

Join us on September 9th as we begin this study that encourages us to reflect on Scripture and its impact on our lives, both as an individual and as a part of the community of Christ followers.

Cost: $8.

Studying Beth Moore's The Inheritance

The concept of inheritance isn’t just a subject in Scripture.  It is a theme stretching all the way from Genesis to Revelation.  The word “inheritance” or forms of the word (i.e., inherit, heir, heritage, etc.) can be found in the Word of God no less than 300 times and appears with frequency in both Testaments.

This fall the MOMS Bible study group will be doing "The Inheritance" by Beth Moore.  This study has no homework.  Join other women for connection and study of God's Word.
