Yes, we will need mentors and youth. But we also need some behind-the-scenes people. Might this be you? We will be having an informational meeting on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 12:45 p.m. in the Quail chapel (room W-410).
Our desire is to create a Youth Christian mentoring environment here at Quail Lakes Baptist Church. We invite you to share a vision to provide a safe and effective Christian mentoring ministry to our youth and their families. Our goal is to help mobilize a church Mentor Leadership Team to insure that Best Practices and “standards” are followed providing a safe and effective mentoring in which Christ is shared. Specifically, we are asking you to prayerfully consider becoming a participating Mentor Ministry Team member who will provide support to Mentor Matches, Mentors, Protégés and their families.
It is a fact that Mentored youth do better in the areas that are most significant in their development. Christian mentoring has the added benefit of offering the opportunity of spiritual growth which comes as a simple and natural result of Christians investing their lives in needy youth. Simply put, this is a complex ministry which requires a team to ensure that it is safe, effective, and sustainable. Building a team with diverse gifts enables everyone involved to minister more thoroughly. Prayerfully consider participating in one of the following positions.
. For more information about the upcoming meeting contact Derrik Graham at 209-406-0670, derrikgraham@gmail.com, or John Carey at 209-952-8692, careyj5@comcast.net.
This is a great behind the scenes ground-level ministry opportunity. JUMP-IN!
Thank You for caring.
