On July 7th our High School international “Go” team will leave for Costa Rica. They will spend a week there working in the La Montana Christian Camp. There they will do everything from sharing the Gospel with the kids who come to the camp to washing dishes and doing minor repairs. This international experience is the first time many of our teens have been in a cross-cultural setting such as this and it will no doubt open their eyes to the situations and needs in other parts of the world.
One thing that the Quail family may not realize is that as our teens raise funds for the trip, a portion of the funds that they raise will go toward funding the campers that they will be working with. You see, the camp primarily reaches out to the poor and disadvantaged children of Costa Rica. That means that they would not be able to fund a camping experience on their own, however, with the assistance of the funds that we raise, the children can attend the camp and our teens can have the experience of this international ministry.
Please be in prayer for our teens and staff as they travel. Ask the Lord for safety and that this will be a time when many of our teens will consider full time ministry as a career.
Thank you to those of you who supported the teens in their fundraising efforts, your generosity helped make this event possible.
His and yours,
Pastor Marc Maffucci
