Life is Complicated
If you Google the words “reduce stress” you get 41,000,000 responses. I got stressed out just looking at the first screen. A new women’s magazine, Real Simple, promotes, “Life is complicated. Simplify.” I don’t have time to read that magazine. I’m still climbing the mountain of magazines we’ve accumulated from redeeming frequent flyer miles. Occasionally I have to simplify my spiritual life. It becomes cluttered with so many books, ideas, questions and drama that I forget what is really important. I heard a pastor share that whenever church got really crazy, he would go back to the gospels and focus on the words of Jesus. He would stay there, reading and reflecting. Perspective would return. If you relate to that, why don’t you open up Matthew 5 and start reading? Take your time—do not hurry this. Expect God to speak to you. Plan on discovering something wonderful about Jesus. Get ready to be challenged, too. Your life may still be complicated, but your heart will be resting in Him.

Fourteen of our women attended our
FIRST EVER -WOMEN’S MISSION TRIP!!!
Where: New Orleans
What: Mission Lab – working through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to help the people of New Orleans. In this city wiped out by Hurricane Katrina there is a great need for help. There are children and parents of working people who are in desperate need of love and attention because these working adults work all day to make a living and every evening to rebuild their homes.

Groups currently meeting are Book Buddies (reading),
and Chicks with Sticks & Quilting (crocheting, knitting & quilting).
We also have periodic events (such as scrapbooking day,
theater trips and seasonal golfing).

The quilt group has joined the knit group and meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in room A-118. Bring your latest project and join them. Newcomers are welcome. WMF (Women's Missionary Fellowship)
Enjoy some warm fellowship and help our missionaries at the same time.

We meet twice a month September through May, and
