Has anyone ever told you what a great listener you are?
Have you ever been told you are such a great encourager?
Do you get a sense of fulfillment out of walking alongside someone when they are going through tough times?
Would you like to improve your listening skills?
If you answered yes to the above questions, we hope you will consider joining us for our next Lay/Peer Counselor Training.
Each lay/peer counselor completes intensive training over two weekends in listening, clarifying and assisting in goal setting, and offering a biblical approach to counseling and caring. The training typically takes place one weekend in February and a second weekend one month later in March. The training is on Thursday & Friday evening and all day Saturday. You must attend all sessions. Following the training, participants can opt to apply to be part of Quail’s Lay/Peer Counseling Team.
The instructor is Dr. Cyndi Telander, a licensed clinical psychologist. Cyndi has worked in a number of clinical settings, including inpatient treatment programs, community and church counseling centers, and high schools. She taught adjunct undergraduate psychology classes at Biola University.
You must attend both sessions.
Cost will be dependent on your church affiliation and previous Lay/Peer Counseling Training attendance.
