As a church, we take special joy when our members heed the Lord’s calling and GO, be it locally, domestically, or globally. To this end, the Global Focus Commission has developed a process to help our home-grown missionaries fulfill their life mission. We are a big church with many activities and programs, so missions must be planned and financed several months in advance to ensure our missionaries are properly funded and equipped to serve fruitfully.
The chart below provides an overview of the process we use to prepare our members for missionary service. Drop an e-mail to Grant or Hernando and they will explain the process, answer your questions, and walk with you through each stage of the process.
A critical element of the process is finding a missions agency to work under. Quail Lakes Baptist Church is not a sending agency and we ask our members with missionary aspirations to align themselves with a reputable sending agency which is doctrinally and values-consistent with our church. We can help members find the right agency partnership.
As indicated by the chart, it takes months of planning to prepare a team or member for missionary service; about 6 months for a short-term mission and closer to 9 months for a long-term mission. Please bear this in mind when considering your missions calling.
