Believe in Yourself

believe-in-yourself

When you read this title, “Believe in Yourself”, all the self centered thoughts we have been inundated with, living in a free land, starts circulating in our thought process. What can “I” do, what will “I” get out of this, how will this make “me” greater than everyone else. I, I, I, me, me me. But as a person who trusts the Lord, this topic takes on a different meaning. It is a belief that is not in our own strength but our strength in Christ. Philippians 4:13 tells us “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Resilience means that no matter what our circumstances are, we are able to begin anew and try again. Resilience relies on preparing a flexible and open heart to God and all of his promises. God reminds us daily, “I am your strength,” “I will never leave you,” “ I have plans for you to prosper,” “I hear your prayers,” “I will fight for you,” “I will give you peace,” “I will always love you,” the list can go on and on. It is so easy to believe in yourself when you have faith in the one who supplies all that we need.

We are not here by chance, God has a purpose for us. This Advent season is a perfect time to remind us that we have great news to share: “behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”( Luke 2:10-13 KJV).

When we know the ending, we are able to endure all the roadblocks and detours the evil one tries to distract us from our journey. We can only believe in ourselves when we rest on the promises of God. Just remember:

  • God is always with me (I will not fear…)
  • God is Always in Control (I will not doubt…)
  • God is Always Good (I will not despair…)
  • God is Always Watching (I will not falter…)
  • God is Always Victorious (I will not fail…)

Sisterly love,
