Memory Verse:
John 14:6
It's Resurrection Sunday, and a DIFFERENT one at that. We can't meet with our families, our traditions might look a little different this year, and maybe we didn't have to dress up in that stifling shirt and tie that we don a couple times a year for those special occasions. And that can create a feeling of insecurity. When things change so drastically so fast, we begin to feel insecure about what we know. Pastor Marc discussed that doubt in today's message. He talked about how doubting is part of the true nature of being human. But WHEN we have doubts, we need to give them to Jesus, because without a doubt, HE IS RISEN!! In John 14:6 Jesus says HE is the only way to the Father, because HE IS RISEN and sacrificed himself for us, showing us that nothing -- NOT even death on a cross -- can overcome Him
Sheltering in place has its advantages: it gives us that ever-needed time to be a family; it helps us bond together; it helps us learn more about each other; and it gives us needed time of rest. BUT it also has its disadvantages: it gives us time to get frustrated with one another; it gives us time to be apathetic or work too much; and it gives us time to wallow in fear and doubt. I pray that during this time you are able to dig deeper in the Word and to give those "disadvantages" to Jesus so that he can take them to the cross and conquer them for you, just like he did with our sins and doubts.
Take a moment and discuss the resurrection of Jesus! That he is not buried but has conquered the grave. Discuss WHY he did this. Use Acts 2:32 to begin. Dig Deeper: Discuss the doubts you are feeling right now. Help each other lay those doubts at the feet of Jesus. Pray for one another daily!
