Media & Technical Arts Team Update

Quail’s Media & Technical Arts team is continuing to support our fellowship’s various efforts during these Covid-19 times. The most obvious effort is the Sunday morning live stream out to the courtyard here on campus, and online. We continue to tweak and evolve this effort to make is as meaningful and impactful as possible. It involves a ton of technology, and we’re striving to do it right! In addition, we’ve re-launched our A Moment With Pastor online series (on Facebook), and we’re working on some other video projects as well. Production of our Designed for Joy radio broadcast also continues.

Future projects include an overhaul of our Sanctuary theatrical (stage) lighting control system. This will allow us to unite the house LED lighting and theatrical lighting into one unified touchscreen-based control station. This simplifies operation, makes our lighting “scene” changes more fluid (and less distracting in some instances), and makes it easier for my Team members to train on it. There are other ongoing upgrades too. Chief among them: Upgrading the distribution of our Sunday morning service signal to additional venues here on campus to facilitate overflow beyond our Sanctuary, and enhance certain types of “decentralized” training events. In the end, though, it’s not about the technology. It’s about leveraging the technology to further God’s kingdom within and outside of our campus. It’s a never-ending process, and one we embrace for His glory!
