Ministry Update from Pastor Grant Hawes

Global Focus
It is difficult being missional during a pandemic but the efforts of Global Focus continue. Global Focus recently sent Tanji Brown Fields off to Honduras to work with orphan children at Rancho Ebenezer under the agency World Gospel Outreach. Pray for Tanji as she navigates this new season in her life as a missionary. This October, based on the success of our ice cream truck GO project, we have decided to do it again but this time, focus on blessing the Stockton Police Department and the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department. Pray that even, with the bad press these departments experience, they will be blessed by being thanked for their tireless efforts.

Outreach
Outreach is moving into our busier time of ministry as we are ramping up for our annual Harvest Carnival. The date of this event will be October 30th with the times possibly changing to 4:30-7:30. All statewide restrictions will be followed as the safety of our volunteers and guests are a priority for us. This year’s Harvest Carnival may look a little different but the love and effort employed to our guests will still point to the reason we do what we do, to glorify God. Thanksgiving to GO will also look differently this year unless restrictions ease up. Stay tuned for details.

Men’s
Join the 30 plus men who wake up early on Wednesday morning and pray for one another and for the needs submitted to the church via the communication cards. This is a very important part of what the men at Quail do. Elders, ex-elders and staff, including the senior pastor, show up every Wednesday morning to pray. We meet at 6:00 a.m. in the chapel. AXIS Bible study has taken the study to Zoom and meet Sundays in between the first and second service. They are currently studying “33” Authentic Manhood Volume 4: A Man and His Work. Volumes include topics on a man’s design, story, traps, parenting, marriage, and career.
