One author tells about the time he was skiing in Colorado and he saw a young man with a vest on with the words “Blind Skier” on the front and back. Seeing that he wondered how anyone could ski down the mountain when they were blind, and the answer came right behind the young skier. A guide was skiing behind the blind skier calling out instructions as they went. “Left, right, slow, skier on your right!”
None of these instructions would have been helpful unless that blind skier acted on the immediately. He had to totally trust the instructions and, “Obey without delay!”
Life is a lot like skiing down the hill blind. You can’t see what is coming and, even if you make a plan, there is no guarantee that things will work out the way that you wish. That is why it is so important to trust the instructions of the one who sees it all and “obey without delay.”
Isaiah 42:16 (NIV)
16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
In this edition of the Quail Call, I have asked various staff members to bring us all up to speed regarding the current status of our programming, as well as some of the ideas we have for the rest of 2020. Of course, we can’t see the future but as we pray and plan, we seek to simply obey our Lord as best we can.
His and yours,
