Soar #6: Eagles are Bold, Courageous and Powerful

Eagles are said to be the most powerful and feared birds in the sky. They are considered extremely bold, courageous and powerful creatures. Fearless fliers. They are known to attack, rip the heads off and eat the most poisonous of snakes on land and in water. In fierce storms they fly in the opposite direction of the wind at their fullest strength. When most other birds would seek shelter or retreat eagles take to the storm head on. Eagles have no fear! What about you? Are you finding yourself facing a storm? Do you need to attack the poisonous snakes slithering their way through your mind, heart and spirit? I ask again, what about you?

Bold, courageous and powerful are words that I would never use to describe myself. At times, in the storms of life I feel more like a meek and tiny bird hiding away in the shelter of a tree or nest. I close off and tuck away with my wings as my only protection. When I am attacked by the poisonous words of the one who comes to kill, steal, destroy and wreak havoc in my mind and spirit, I become powerless and paralyzed. I lose sight of my source. I lose the truth that lives in me. It has taken me years to understand the full meaning of the verse.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
1 John 4:4

With time I have learned there is nothing to fear because the one who now lives in me is GREATER than the one who lives in the world. He has overcome the world. He has already won. He lives in me and there is nothing that I can’t do or face without his loving wings of protection and victory. Courage requires boldness and strength all of which come from God. He calls us and commands us in His scriptures to be ready, to be bold in stepping out and making the choice to seek his aide. Ask and it will be given. We are called to be strong and courageous to rise up and face whatever comes our way for he is with us.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

Again, I ask what about you? What storms are you currently facing? What lies are you allowing yourself to be corrupted by? Will you boldly step out, take courage, be strong in the Lord and declare His victory!? For he is truly with you. Will you allow the God of all creation to transform you? Will you allow God to change your life from a meek small bird who is cowering for shelter and left powerless and paralyzed by fear? Or will you allow God to transform you into the regal bold, courageous, and powerful creature you are born to be! A FEARLESS FLIER FOR AND WITH CHRIST.
