God’s majestic power is seen in nature all around us. One great example is the eagle soaring above the earth. It's amazing how vast its wing span is and how fast eagles soar. They are always aware of their surroundings, watching for their enemies to keep their young safe and providing food to feed their family. Women also soar through life, rushing, watching, waiting and hoping. We can grow weary from rushing and stumble if we are not careful. Just as the eagle has to stop and come down to rest, we also need to rest.
Our Majestic Father rested on the seventh day and we should follow His example. When we rest we regain our strength. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” May you and I rest in His love and renew our strength so we can soar again tomorrow.
As women, we have many majestic moments as we soar through life, which at times can seem like forever. If we are not careful, life can soar right by us. When you think about it, life is full of majestic moments. Those majestic moments will be as different, unique, and individual as each one of us. As I name a few of those majestic moments, please reflect on some of your own majestic moments:Looking down at a baby cradled in your arms and feeling overwhelmed.
A parent, grandparent, or someone you admired telling you that you are wonderful.
An award in school.
A wedding, yours or someone else’s.
Maybe you're a grandmother watching your grandchildren grow and start soaring on their own.
As I said, there are many majestic moments and only you and God know what all your moments are. We give praises to the Lord when we sing how Majestic is His name. That alone is an awesome thought! But again, I caution you to rest and replenish your strength. While resting, give thanks to God for giving us life. In your resting, take time to read Psalm 139.
As we celebrate Christ’s birth this month, let’s think of His mother, Mary. Mary looked into the eyes of baby Jesus and knew he was special. She soared through his life with him. And just like the rest of us, she had many majestic moments in her life. Mary pondered the magnificence of Christ in her heart. Think of it: Mary, an ordinary young woman gave birth to Jesus our Lord and Savior of the world! And Jesus gave us life, a life to live and enjoy as we soar through majestic moments with His help!
Dear sisters, let us reflect on our lives in the quietness of our own hearts. How have you been soaring? Are you soaring with Jesus as your strength? Are you thanking Him for being willing to come to Earth to redeem us, even dying on the cross? Give praises to God for raising Jesus from the dead in all His majesty and glory! What a majestic moment for those of us who believe! And remember, Jesus remembers us. He never promised life would always be easy, but he did promise that He would walk through all of life with us. All we have to do is ask Him and allow Him in.
As you look up into the sky and see an eagle, you may not think of that majestic bird in the same way again. Dear sisters in Christ, let’s soar with JOY. This month will be over soon, so get ready to soar through another year, having more majestic moments to ponder in our hearts.
