What does it mean to Abide? This has been the theme for Women's Ministry this year!

A- Adore his majesty in prayer. —John 15:7
B- Bless Him through service. —John 15:5
I- Incline your heart toward His word. —John 15:10
D- Dwell deep in His love. — John 15:4
E- Exalt Him in Joy. — John 15:11

We began this discussion series back in September at Saturday Morning with Jesus where Robin Gordon introduced the theme Abide. She lightly unpacked John 15 and what it looks like to abide. We also heard interviews from Melissa Palafox, Sabina Tackett, Sue Mitrovich, Melaney Smith and Sylvia Maffucci. Each woman shared their thoughts, hearts and encouragement about Abiding in Christ.

In November, Kimberly Bruneel shared the importance of “Abiding in Prayer” and the impact having a prayer group has had in her life. We then invited Beverly DuCharme and Alicia Simoni and they shared, encouraged and emphasized the urgency to join or start a prayer group. There is power and generational impact in prayer! We ended the evening joining together in small groups praying over common concerns. We put abiding in prayer into practice and allowed the majesty of Christ to fill the room and move.

As we enter the Christmas season to celebrate our Saviors birth it is the perfect time to practice abiding in Christ. Don’t get caught up in the frenzy of the commercialized season. Intentionally take the time to pause, be still and rest in him. I encourage you to practice Abiding in Him. You can meet with Him in prayer, bless Him through acts of service, turn your heart towards scripture and rest deep in His love. Abide in the greatest gift ever given! The saviors birth.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not parish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
